Hi there, I'm Simone! As a proud mother of two, devoted wife, and teacher, my commitment extends beyond my work with children and now into the realms of birth work. As a doula and lactation counselor, I guide individuals through the transformative journey into parenthood, ensuring each experience is empowering and enriching. I am also a committed community advocate, passionately supporting neurodiversity, and dementia awareness, along with inclusive birth practices. Through education, advocacy, and compassionate care, I strive to create a world where every individual is celebrated and supported on their unique journey.
I obtained my Lactation Counselor training through UC San Diego and my Labor, Birth & Postpartum Doula Training through Solano HEALs "Centering the Doula" program in the Fall of 2023. Other academic achievements include obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology.
My Journey into birth work began from the moment I witnessed the metamorphic power of birth, as a teen. Although my primary career is in education, my heart led me to specialize in supporting mothers during the crucial stages of pregnancy and the postpartum period. As a special education teacher, I've learned the incredible strength that lies within every individual, and as a birth worker, I strive to channel that strength to create positive birth experiences.
I have come to recognize the profound impact compassionate support can have on individuals during childbirth and postpartum periods.
Driven by a commitment to community, I am particularly focused on supporting and empowering women of color. In a field where personalized care is paramount, I aim to create a safe and inclusive space for diverse experiences. Every woman deserves to feel heard, understood, and empowered as she navigates the beautiful and complex journey of motherhood.
As a military spouse, I've embraced the challenges and joys that come with a life filled with transitions. Balancing the roles of spouse, mother, caregiver, and teacher has been a rewarding journey, shaping my understanding of resilience, adaptability, and the importance of community.
